Chakra Visualisation
Visualisation is a form of meditation which is simply a tool for resting the mind. All you need to do to visualise is to relax, close your eyes and use your imagination.
We are going to share a chakra visualisation with you that you could easily add to your daily mindfulness/meditation routine. The visualisation will take about 5-10 minutes, all depending on how long you wish to visualise for.
This chakra visualisation is great for when you are feeling tired, rundown, out of sorts or just feeling a little off.
According to ancient Indian meditation, a chakra is an energy point that connects the physical and emotional bodies. We have seven main chakras running in a straight line along the body. If the chakras are blocked and out of alignment, then physical and emotional ailments can occur. This visualisation will help to unblock and realign the chakras.
Use the ‘Mindfulness Tip’ image to help you find the position of the seven chakras along your body. Knowing where each chakra is positioned will help you in the visualisation.
· To begin the visualisation, make sure you have a quite space. You can be either sitting or lying down, whichever feels comfortable for you.
· Close your eyes and start imagining each chakra as a spinning wheel. The wheels may not be moving, or they could be spinning really fast. Whatever comes to mind first in your visualisation just roll with.
· Visualise the spinning wheel to spin at a smooth, consistent speed. Imagine the wheel to be bright and shiny before you move onto the next chakra.
· It should only take about a minute on each chakra.
· Once you have visualised all seven chakras to be clean and running smoothly take three deep breaths, then open your eyes.
This visualisation should help your body and mind feel connected and balanced. It is a great visualisation to complete either at the beginning of the day or end of the day, just before you drift off to sleep.
Give it a try and enjoy the benefits of visualisation and working with your chakras.
