Reflecting on the year that was…2019.

WOAH! It’s December already! 2019 has definitely been a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of year! Now that the last month of the year is here, it is a great time to reflect on the events, experiences and themes of the past 12 months.

 

Now we know mindfulness is all about bringing yourself into the present moment - limiting your thoughts on past and future events. But there are is an exception to the rule (there is always an exception to the rule!)

 

Looking back at everything that has occurred in the last year helps you to celebrate your wins and reflect on any loses. 

 

Grab yourself a pen and paper or open a Word document on your computer to list down the events of 2019. 

 

Start with any challenges or negative situations that may have occurred throughout the year. 

·      What happened? 

·      How did it make you feel? 

·      Were you able to overcome the obstacles? 

·      What did you learn from the challenges?

 

Now flip to the positive events and wins of the year. Celebrate them!

·      What are you proud of?

·      What have you accomplished?

·      How did you manage to achieve the successes?

·      What have you done to celebrate your win?

 

You can use this list a guide to improve or elevate your life in 2020. Make the next year the best year of your life! The power is in your hands!
